What is NLP, anyway?

                                 NLP* - Neuro-Linguistic-Programing

  • NEURO -meaning related to the central nervous system, using our 5 senses; What we see, what we hear, what we feel, what we smell and what we taste.
  • LINGUISTIC - meaning select language patterns;

  • PROGRAMMING - meaning to “re-frame” or “re-pattern” a thought process with certain  language patterns, which then enables the human brain to develop NEW WAYS to think, without hypnosis, without “brainwashing”,    just a change of perspective, a “re-framing” as it were, of past memories, events or experiences of life. This then opens up the possibilities to getting past issues that perhaps may have been “with you” for months or years

NLP language processes help to “slay the dragons” of our negative memories and experiences.  What used to take months of detailed, drawn out, lengthy counseling sessions now takes only minutes and it doesn’t cost a fortune! Sometimes we get from “here” to “there” in our thoughts by “walking down  the same pathways” (of thought) over and over again, wearing a “groove” in our brains and we tend to do it again and again because it’s the easiest way to think. It is our own personal “pattern” of thought. One saying in a popular 12-step program is we "keep making the same choices over and over again expecting different results”.

Negative thoughts have actually been found to change the chemistry of our brains!

But it has been well proven that “if you change the way you think, you will change the way you feel” . . .
